Unificationists Take on the Great American Pilgrimage
Load up the minivan, pack up the kids, and join the trip! This summer, families will have the exciting opportunity to participate in the national Holy Ground Pilgrimage, in honor of the 50th anniversary of their establishment. Half of the world’s Holy Grounds are right here in America, showing True Father’s great love for this nation and what he wanted to accomplish here. It is a precious opportunity to band together as a national family, as we retrace True Father’s first footsteps in America. In 2013, True Mother toured America to reconnect with places that meant so much to True Parents, and we are excited to extend the same opportunity to our families and friends.
True Father blessed these locations as Holy Grounds with the intention that every state have a sacred place to gather and pray for the fulfillment of God’s will for America. On his original tour, he sometimes traveled to several locations in one day, praying at each, for America’s important role in fulfilling God’s work. In this important time, we not only want to reflect on his legacy, but learn to inherit True Father’s heart and mission. This is a unique experience to step into True Father’s shoes, and observe this beautiful country through his eyes.
Our 43-day pilgrimage begins in June and will span the entire nation. Unificationists of all ages are invited to make this trek, whether they take a day to make it out to their local Holy Ground or make an extended trip and join the tour across several states.
A core group will visit each site and engage with the local communities for activities, prayer, and to learn about the history of the site. Historical footage of True Father will be shown at each location and participants will be able to appear in a video blog to commemorate the trip.
Visit the site to choose your pilgrimage route option. Throughout the week, we will be updating the site with more information on each individual event.
