True Parents’ 54th Anniversary
Yesterday was the 54th Anniversary of True Parents’ Holy Marriage Blessing in 1960. This was a momentous day for the world, as we now had True Parents who recreated the original God-centered ideal couple that Adam and Eve were meant to be, and guided the way forward to change the world. Today, as a nation and global community, we all celebrate True Parents’ groundbreaking mission and with immense gratitude we wish our True Father and True Mother a happy anniversary!
A documentary video produced by iPeace TV in Korea highlights this historic day and its significance in the course of True Parent’s life and legacy. The video is available in both English and Spanish.
True Parents’ Holy Wedding
True Parents’ Holy Wedding was held on March 16, 1960, according to the lunar calendar (or April 11, 1960 by the solar calendar), at the Cheongpa-dong church in Seoul.
According to the book, Blessing and Ideal Family:
“The Holy Wedding Ceremony of 1960 established a substantial reciprocal relationship between True Parents and three disciples, who were three other couples who also received the Holy Marriage Blessing that year, creating a relationship that represented the unity between the parents and the three children in Adam’s family, Cain, Abel, and Seth. This Holy Wedding Ceremony overcame the disunity between these three sons and their parents in Adam’s family, which was the source of God’s deep resentment. This date marked, for the first time in history, an event of universal significance. From that moment, a new fortune could be felt moving throughout the world and a new history began.”
Completion of the Holy Wedding Ceremony
The Holy Blessing Ceremony of the “three sons” — that is, the three Couples’ Blessing Ceremony — was held. Won-pil Kim and Dal-ok Cheong; Hyo-won Eu and Gil-ja Sa; and Young-hwi Kim and Dae-hwa Cheong were blessed in marriage on April 16, 1960 (March 21, 1960 of the lunar calendar). Rev. Hyo-won Eu recorded in his diary that the ceremony, which represented a wedding ceremony that should have taken place for Adam’s three sons, was carried out from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This was the first Holy Marriage Blessing Ceremony conducted for Unificationists.
