Global Top Gun Brings Nations Together
The Global Top Gun team’s third and final week of the workshop has been a busy one. They’ve participated in the Peace Road 2016 launch, met with True Mother at the new Heaven G Burger restaurant, and embarked on a pilgrimage to Holy Grounds and historic locations across Korea.
Since Day One, participants have noted the spectacular and immense diversity among them, and many have named the international quality of the workshop the number one highlight of their experience. This coming together of nations has not only affected participants; it has enriched other events in which they’ve participated that have been a part of their broader Korean experience, such as the Peace Road and other commemorative events surrounding the Cheon Il Guk Holy Days.
The Peace Road launch on February 15, in particular, had a big impact on everyone attending. Despite freezing cold temperatures, over 100 people were eager to ride bikes and support the cause. Through this event and seeing the demilitarized zone (DMZ) separating North and South Korea with their own eyes, Global Top Gun participants gained a new perspective on the reality of the unity that is still missing in the land of Korea.
Here are some reflections from Global Top Gun participants and other leaders attending the launch:
As an international workshop, Global Top Gun played a key role in representing the nations of the world during this first Peace Road tour of 2016. In turn, the Peace Road bike ride offered participants the chance to see more of Korea, a place that many of them are visiting for the first time.
Global Top Gun participant, Kevin Legre, is from the Ivory Coast. His time in Korea has allowed him to reflect on the differences between the current workshop and those offered in his country. In the video below, Kevin shares a few of his realizations and what he hopes to gain from this workshop:
As the workshop comes to a close, Foundation Day will mark a new beginning for participants. Next week, they will return to their communities and build upon the foundation they have created in Korea. We wish them well and look forward to the fruits of the international bonds they’ve made.
