New Jersey Unificationists Celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving
Manoj Jacob, district pastor of FFWPU USA District 2 (New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware), and his wife, Rany, recently traveled to Canada to celebrate Canadian Thanksgiving, which occurs on the second Monday of October, with family and the local Unificationist community. Their two daughters, Anna and Maria, described their trip as “the best trip we had ever since we came to the U.S.” (in 2010 from India).
Taking time to sightsee along the way, the Jacob family spent 12 hours on the road from New Jersey to Canada. Even the drive offered something, “It was beautiful to see the mountains covered with colorful autumn leaves,” said Anna and Maria. Along with the exciting sights of Niagara Falls and a visit to the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, located in Toronto, the Jacobs caught up with their extended family. “We saw our uncle, aunt and cousins that we did not see in four years!” said the girls.
The next day, the whole family, including the girls’ uncle, attended the Toronto Family Church, where the community welcomed them with open arms. They heard a wonderful sermon by Rev. Moon Shik Kim, the FFWPU regional itinerant worker for North America, and enjoyed a festive Thanksgiving lunch with the congregation. It was a wonderful experience for the whole family. The girls, especially, expressed how grateful they were to spend time with family and to experience Thanksgiving in Canada.

Glad you enjoyed my hometown, the Canadian Thanksgiving, and your wonderful family and Canadian church family. Ripley’s is fun–it must have been a delight for your children!
