Cultural Programs Build Peace
True Father once said, “It is culture and art that move the world” (As a Peace-Loving Global Citizen). In the last two months, the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in Europe promoted character education, intercultural peace and Divine Principle study through culture, sports and the arts. The following stories detail recent events in Switzerland, Italy and Germany.
UPF Switzerland Kicks Off Children’s Peace Cup Soccer Tournament
On May 1, 2015, Universal Peace Federation (UPF) – Ticino held its annual soccer tournament. Participants included children from Switzerland and Italy. The tournament’s purpose is to promote overcoming personal and team challenges through a friendship-oriented environment.
Soccer for Peace
The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) of Israel and San Marina worked along with Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) Italy and UPF Italy to launch a soccer tournament. A boys’ soccer team was formed under the name Peace Dreamers.
Intercultural Spring Festival in Munich
The Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Munich organized an intercultural festival. Festivities included meditation, poetic texts, and songs. A slide show presentation was made to share beautiful slides of spring and words from True Father and others.
