Help New York City Youth Receive Music Education

Jessica Garand, a Unificationist living in New York, founded Opportunity Music Project (OMP), a non-profit organization that provides free music lessons, instruments, orchestral training and mentoring to deserving kids in New York’s inner city. A graduate of the Julliard school, Jessica started this program four years ago with a few students, and this year hopes to grow the program to have 100 students in the fall.
“The idea behind OMP came about after a conversation over coffee with a friend, about how a person’s potential can be determined by the circumstances they are born into,” said Jessica.
OMP just launched a 45-day fundraiser with a goal of raising $20,000. Any contribution, share or shout-out gets OMP closer to that 20K target. If you are inspired to give or spread the word, please consider doing so in the first few days of this campaign (this week). Research has shown that campaigns raising 30% of their funding goal in the first two weeks are more likely to succeed later in the campaign’s lifespan.
With your support, OMP can reach its goal, and exceed it!
