Remembering Hyo Jin Moon
Today, we remember Hyo Jin Moon on the sixth anniversary of his Seonghwa (Ascension). The eldest son of Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon (True Parents), he passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2008 at the age of 45 due to a heart attack. He is widely remembered for his passion for music, his leadership qualities, and his impact on the worldwide Unificationist community.
Hyo Jin Moon was born on December 3, 1962 and was an elder brother to our international community. He actively spoke around the world during his presidency of the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) over a span of 10 years. He earned a Master’s degree in religious studies from the Unification Theological Seminary (UTS) and an honorary Doctorate in theology from Sun Moon University. In 2006, he accompanied True Mother on a Universal Peace Federation (UPF) global tour.
He actively wrote, performed and produced music, and hosted many professional musicians at the Manhattan Center Studios where he served as president and chairman. He also founded Manhattan Centers in Korea and Japan. His full biography and memorial e-book, In Loving Memory of Hyo Jin Nim, describes the inspiration he brought to many, including to his father—our True Father—through his profound words and active life. CanaanStation is a compilation of his music, video projects and concert photos. Revisit his words and work and take a moment to send him your thoughts on this day.
