Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Award Recipients
Between March 8-23, 2015 Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Continental Chair of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) North America, presented the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Awards to 12 grateful young Unificationists both in America and in Canada.
University of Las Vegas
On Sunday, March 14, three CARP students from UNLV received the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Award at the conclusion of Sunday Service. Close to 100 Unificationists were in attendance and they all joined Dr. Kim in honoring and encouraging these students. Dr. Kim briefly explained True Mother’s heart and expectation for the recipients. The three students looked confident, showing gratitude and determination to study harder and also to participate in outreach efforts on UNLV campus and strive to be leaders. The audience also felt proud to have these students here in Las Vegas.
Bridgeport International Academy
On Sunday, March 22, 2015, the Bridgeport Family Church Sunday Service began with a ceremony awarding three Bridgeport International Academy freshmen with the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Award. Together with their parents and families, each student gratefully received the scholarships that were presented by Dr. and Mrs. Hugh Spurgin. This special scholarship enables these deserving students to attend a school where values of the Divine Principle are taught and practiced.
Los Angeles
The Los Angeles community celebrated two Unificationists who are proud recipients of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Award. On Sunday, March 22, 2015, the LA Family Church held the award ceremony with Mr. McKay Holmes, president of the local church council, officiating. The community is so proud of and grateful to True Mother for their recipients.
Canada
One student from Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto received the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Award. On the morning of March 8, during the Sunday Service in Vancouver, Hyunsoo’s mother was presented with the scholarship certificate on Hyunsoo’s behalf as he was away at college in a different province. During the Sunday Service in Montreal on the morning of March 15, Charles’ parents were presented with the scholarship certificate, as he, too, was unable to attend the ceremony.
In Toronto, on the morning of March 22, Jun Kin was presented with the scholarship certificate award. He was very happy and grateful to True Mother for this generous scholarship.
Maryland
Matthew Hill, a young Unificationist who has performed for True Parents on several occasions, was the fortunate recipient of the Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation Scholarship Award in Maryland. Rev. Ernest Patton, Rev. Miilhan Stephens and Matthew got together at an Italian restaurant (one of Dr. Kim’s favorites when he is in the area) called Pasta Plus for dinner on Monday, March 23, 2015. To begin the night they offered a prayer and then discussed many different topics over dinner, such as Miilhan’s new calling, the Maryland Church community, health and wellness and how it is related to spiritual health. Matthew gave a testimony about how grateful he was, and later they continued talking about some of their fondest memories with the community. Rev. Patton and Rev. Stephens presented Matthew with the beautiful scholarship certificate and closed the evening commenting on how grateful they are to True Mother and True Parents.
