Background

Charles de Watteville was born in Tampa, Florida in 1954. He graduated from University of California, Davis in 1977 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and joined the Unification Movement later that year. He worked for seven years pioneering the Il Hwa Ginseng business in Texas and New York City. In 1984, he attended the Unification Theological Seminary and graduated from the Divinity program in 1987.

After the seminary, Charles and his wife served as the FFWPU USA State Leaders for North Carolina, South Texas, North Texas, and Oklahoma. In 1992, they moved to Sacramento, California, and in 2013 they began their service as pastors for the Sacramento Valley Family Church. In 1995, Charles completed his Masters of Social Work and has worked as the Data Systems Manager for LPC Consulting Associates, Inc. evaluating social service programs since 1997.

Charles received the Marriage Blessing with Eleonore Oestreicher at the 2075 Couples’ Marriage Blessing Ceremony in 1982. Eleonore was the original missionary from Germany to the Tongan Islands. She also served as missionary to Fiji and Boliva. Together they have one daughter.
