Nina Urbonya

Background

Nina Urbonya was born on June 14, 1990 in Paris, France. At the age of six she moved to St. Lucia with her parents so they could participate in mission work.

Nina studied Korean at True Parents’ Language Institute at the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center in Korea and earned a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Seoul National University. After moving to America, Nina worked for the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) national headquarters as well as the national Youth and Young Adults Ministry (YAYAM). She has also translated numerous Unification publications from Korean to English and served as an interpreter for international Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) events. Nina is also a watercolor artist who enjoys painting and selling her art.

Nina served as a chairwoman for the Detroit Family Church for the past several years before assuming her new dual roles: Detroit Family Church pastor and Michigan state leader. 

Nina and her husband Aaron Urbonya received the Marriage Blessing at the Manhattan Center in 2009. They have one daughter, Julie, and a baby boy due in May.
