True Parents’ Birthday

By Taiyo Immanuel Groening (Germany)

In this poem, what is it I want to express?

What am I trying to do?

Express my heart that is for you,

Find words that try not to impress,

For this glorious day,

Some words that play.

To create something,

Something that satisfies my soul and yours,

Find the heart that pours,

Not just love and beauty,

But truth.

Brothers and sisters gathered here,

It has been another year,

We come together to celebrate and resonate,

With the ones who are one,

To honor, respect and love,

Those we think deserve it most,

Those who are our moon and sun.

It is a day to remind us,

What has been given and gifted to us,

A blessing so great we cannot comprehend,

And thus it’s hard to give back,

Something we simply don’t understand,

But still we try,

With all our heart, our soul,

We try again and again,

We may stumble and fall,

But we know it’s all for you,

And that’s what makes it true.

It’s hard to show in just words,

What you mean to me, to us,

Also because I doubt to know myself,

If what there is to find does end,

I don’t dare to say I know,

I know I still have to grow,

I know that I don’t know,

All I have are seeds to sow,

Take care of them,

Make sure they grow forever,

Make sure they never sever,

Make them become a gem.

I think we can’t comprehend

What you mean to the world,

And we fail to express,

We try to compliment,

Try to caress,

But still sometimes

We manage to convey

A feeling so deep and true,

You just might think it’s enough.

I hope that at least for today,

We can hold each other’s hands,

Our parents deserve to see,

See children in unity.

Today we do not think

About what’s right or wrong,

About standing on the brink,

About where we belong.

Today is grand,

Today is hopeful,

Today we stand,

We look into the future and see,

See what is destined to be,

Destined to be theirs,

A kingdom of beauty,

A kingdom of peace,

A place with you and me,

A place with God.

At that place,

What must it be like?

We ask ourselves

And realise,

Deep inside,

We already know.

From the bottom of our hearts,

Songs of harmony and desire come to life,

The want to build and create,

One heart that never parts,

One heart never dying,

One heart forever trying.
