Young Unificationists Embark on 2000-Mile Hike
On October 31, two young men from the Atlanta Family Church left home in search of adventure, friendship, and faith. Equipped with heavy backpacks filled with gear and supplies, Jacob Whedbee and Musunga Mubuso, both 19-years-old, began what they expect to be a six-month journey from Atlanta, Georgia to San Diego, California.
Jacob and Musunga, who inherited their religious beliefs from Unificationist parents, plan to make their own faith real to them during this trek through the American south. While walking, they hope to meet new people and engage in conversations about God. “[This is] a fantastic opportunity to…reflect on ourselves and enjoy life and nature before we get too busy with school and work,” says Musunga.
On November 11, Jacob and Musunga arrived in Alabama at the Birmingham Family Church, where they were welcomed with a dinner and a good night’s rest. The next morning, the young men joined Rev. Abayomi Oladipo, pastor of the Birmingham church, for Hoon Dok Hwe (daily study of scripture) before continuing on their way.
With 2000 miles to go and not much in savings, Jacob and Musunga are asking for financial support. You can help fund their journey by donating at gofundme.com/jmhaa. Happy trails to the two travelers!

Southern route should be fine. They need a communications person to contact the media before they come to every town, so that they can explain their purpose and their hope for America.

My prayers are with you on this ambitious journey! Please take a southern route so as not to experience too much severe cold weather. Please keep us all posted with photos and reports.
God bless you.
