Regional Highlights
Northeast Region
On January 25, FFWPU Children’s Ministry banded together to create the greatest offering table ever: 18 feet of candy, candy, and more candy! They wanted to make an offering table to match the grown-up fruit-filled offering table that all the kids would remember. Children’s Ministry wanted the children to not feel like they are missing out and really remember True Parents’ Birthday and Heavenly Parent’s Day. After offering a bow, more than 50 children disassembled the offering table within seconds. It was a sight to see and remember, and an experience they will never forget!
Southeast Region
The Southeast region hosted their first young adult ski and snowboard trip for the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia communities! A total of 16 young adults came out to shred the slopes. Additional friends from New Jersey and Delaware joined the group on the slopes of Ski Liberty Mountain Resort in Pennsylvania! It was a nice opportunity to take a break from the daily grind of life and have a lot of fun together. It was truly a great time getting to know each other better as a greater community and to bond over wiping out on the slopes. The Southeast region hopes to host another trip soon!
Midwest Region
Minnesota’s Youth Ministry hosted their latest monthly youth group event in January. The program began with an interactive internal activity called “Would You Rather?” with questions related to True Father and True Mother’s life stories. Then they shared some stories, mainly from True Father’s biography, and reflected on the lessons they could learn from them. Afterward, the group went roller skating and had a blast!
Southwest Region
Arkansas YAYAM joined a #MLKDay project to raise awareness for the humanitarian crisis in Syria! They worked with The Wisdom House, a group that sponsors a women’s center and a kindergarten school in Idlib, Syria. They have been working closely with The Wisdom House for the past year to send supplies and letters of encouragement to the children at the school.
Western Region
Bay Area California hosted their annual ski trip at the Boreal Mountain Ski Resort. They had a wonderful weekend with 47 people attending: 30 high schoolers, 11 young adults, and six parents! Participants skied and snowboarded and also took time to just enjoy the snow and good company. It was great to celebrate True Heavenly Parent’s Day out in the beautiful creation. It brings God a lot of joy when He sees His children having fun and appreciating nature!
