Wongu University Celebrates Third Anniversary
On October 9, 2015, the Wongu University of Oriental Medicine in Las Vegas, Nevada, celebrated its third anniversary. With a Wongu Drum opening performance and a tea ceremony as part of the festivities, attendees were able to get a taste of some of the things the school has to offer.

The event was free to the public, and also offered complimentary five-needle facial acupuncture, a screening of the “9000 Needles” documentary, a light meal and a gift for all attendees. Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Chair of the Board of Directors, sent a congratulatory message to staff and students. He said, “In the last three years, you did a wonderful job for Wongu and the community here in Las Vegas. On behalf of the founder, I want congratulate Wongu University and all family members. We will continue to support Wongu’s growth and we hope to see great success from each one of you.”

As a project founded by the True Father in the last years of his life, the school is a testament to his legacy as well as a service to the local community. The school was founded in 2012 in Nevada, the first state in the United States to grant licenses to practitioners of Oriental medicine. Wongu is the first and only Oriental Medicine school in Nevada approved to grant a Master of Science degree in Oriental Medicine. In 2014, the school was granted Candidacy status by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM), which is the recognized accrediting agency for programs preparing acupuncture and Oriental medicine practitioners.
