WFWP USA Annual Membership Drive

She saw it all around her. In store windows. On billboards. In movies. On Internet sites.

The message was clear: “Love equals sex.” Even food ads had a sexual message. For Miambi Koko of WFWP Atlanta, that message was out of line with her view of a healthy and harmonious society. With an understanding, rooted in her faith, of what real human relationships are, and skills and knowledge gained as a member and officer of her local Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) chapter, she set out to make a change in the culture. She spoke up to bring a new day for women and girls.

This year’s membership drive of WFWP USA was most unique and fruitful, and we wish to thank all those who contributed to its success!

What was unique about this year’s membership drive, and why was it successful?

Two words: Collaborative effort! It truly was an all-out effort of our team at HQ​, chairladies in the field, and also the support of our sister organization, the Family Federation for World Peace! 

The headquarters staff set the theme and banner of “Igniting a Culture of Heart,” focused on the characteristics of the fire rooster, created promotional materials such as the letter above and the heart-shaped gift, mailed renewal packages to all former WFWP members, and got the word out through social media and our website.

Chairwomen across the country set goals for their chapters, and found creative ways of getting the word out. Several areas combined their celebrations for the 25th Anniversary with the drive, such as in Los Angeles with their Bridge of Peace program, and a tea party celebration in Connecticut. Others, such as our chairwoman in Northern California, met and exceeded their goals through repetition and weekly promotion of WFWP.

As we neared the end of April, Family Federation stepped in to help spread the word of our drive, and gave us the final boost in confidence that we will accomplish the goal!

We did indeed accomplish our goal, as teamwork made the dream work, and would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success! A new momentum has been created and so we decided to extend the membership drive through the month of May, the month for Mothers!

WFWP will continue to empower, educate and uplift women with the knowledge, skills and supportive community to discover their unique value and bring lasting peace.
