WFWP 24th Anniversary National Assembly
The 2016 Women’s Federation for World Peace USA (WFWP) 24th Anniversary National Assembly entitled Compassionate, Sustainable Leadership: Women Making an Impact will be held Friday, November 11 through Sunday, November 13 in New Jersey.
True Parents founded WFWP in 1992 with the intention of empowering and educating women with a new paradigm of leadership, one based on “reconciliation, compassion, love, service and sacrifice.” WFWP believes each woman is a leader in her own right and has a necessary and critical part to play in building sustainable peace.
This year, the Assembly will kick off the evening of Friday, November 11 with a special celebration in honor of Veteran’s Day at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fairfield, NJ. The program will feature a banquet dinner and a stirring Bridge of Peace Ceremony, WFWP’s signature peace and reconciliation project. The Bridge will address current wounds of America, particularly those surrounding our service women and men.
On Saturday, November 12, the main event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel will feature topics and discussions on how women can and do make an impact for creating peace in their families and communities. The 5th Annual Global Women’s Peace Network (GWPN) Panel will highlight distinguished women leaders, activists, and experts who will speak on what compassionate, sustainable leadership looks like in action. After a delicious gourmet lunch, participants will choose from a variety of interactive and hands-on breakout sessions on how to apply this paradigm of leadership in their own lives.
The afternoon will culminate with the first-ever National Schools of Africa Gala Fundraiser. Participants will experience the beautiful and vibrant cultures of Africa as well as have the opportunity to donate to the nine schools WFWP founded and continues to support.
Finally, WFWP also invites you to attend the Marriage Blessing Celebration on Sunday, November 13 at the Clifton Family Church in Clifton, NJ. This will certainly prove to be a moving celebration of strong, healthy marriages and families as the cornerstone of peace.
