Weekend Workshop Kicks Off Autumn Season

After many international seminars and youth meetings over the summer, the beginning of autumn heralded the resumption of the monthly Divine Principle weekend workshops for Unificationists in Germany. From September 18-20, 2015, 12 youth and adults attended a weekend workshop in Bad Camberg, Germany.

It was a weekend filled with new experiences, spontaneity and faith. Younger participants gratefully took in the spiritual nourishment and everyone enjoyed spending time with the very mixed age group. Due to delays and cancellations, Rieko Tanaka from Düsseldorf spontaneously filled in as emcee, and Claus Dubisz acted as last-minute lecturer. Dieter Schmidt, one of the workshop lecturers, brought inspiration with his medical knowledge so that concepts of the Divine Principle such as body and spirit and physical and spiritual mind were clearly understandable.

Despite a weather forecast of rain, there was a lot of sunshine, which lifted the atmosphere. One participant born in Iran had come to the workshop with the goal of rediscovering God. Disappointed by many twists of fate, she had argued with God and even doubted His existence. However, the presentation about the life of Jesus and the course of True Father kindled new hope in her, which she expressed in the end with tears.
In the evening, participant Yeson Noguchi surprised the group with pantomime games, and the lack of a guitar player didn’t stall the group from singing together. Overall the workshop made for a very unique experience and reflected to staff and participants alike that God is alive and working.
