This Week on True Parents Way
Contributed by Dr. Tyler Hendricks
Our blog series shares True Parents’ teachings on the process of aging. They consecrated the last stage of life through the three great kingships, of the children, parents and grandparents, and the three seonghwas, birth, marriage and death. Father Moon taught, “We must not treat old people disrespectfully, no matter how senile they may become.” He called us to “create a family environment …the palace of grandparents, the palace of parents, and the palace of children regardless of race.” His takeaway for all children is: attend your parents as they decline. It is a privilege. It is your path to Heaven. It unites you as siblings. And it frees you from this world’s addictions.
Our Tuesday video discusses how religious values instill morality, but morality by itself falls short. Without an infusion of supernatural grace, the movement for abstinence and fidelity will fail. Why? Because human beings with fallen nature cannot maintain these standards. Grace brings a transformation of human nature through rebirth, that removes the fallen nature. The ideal cultural environment creates the conditions in which people will long for the Word and sacrament that bring new life. The Word is Divine Principle and the sacrament is the Holy Marriage Blessing.
And our Thursday podcast, “The Crossroads of Life and Death,” shares Rev. Moon’s words on how love and sex set one’s course toward life…or death.
