We Will Make It Holy
The God’s Hope for America Pilgrimage gathered in the local park of Brattleboro called “The Common” where the Holy Ground of Vermont, the Green Mountain State, is located. Mike Macijeski gave a reading and Kathy Ross, the first Unificationist in Vermont, drove up and joined us from New York. Ten people drove down here from Montreal, Canada, including Serge Brosseau who led us in song with a verse in French after a powerful unison prayer.
One participant was approached by a woman of the Bahai faith who said, ““I love interfaith. I really believe that as long as we all have our own personal connection to God, we can follow our own faith.” She introduced herself as Roz Buckley and took pictures. Wondering how to send them to us, the participant showed her how to hashtag #godshopeforamerica on Facebook.
The pilgrimage has been visiting places important to Father and Mother. Father spent more time at UTS than any of the Holy grounds; he visited UTS over 100 times. Dr. Tyler Hendricks took us on a tour of the grounds. He shared stories of Father’s time spent at the seminary such as fireside chats and making fishing nets with students.
The pilgrimage completed its Yankee Clipper mini tour in Niagara Falls with new pilgrims joining from Detroit and neighboring pilgrims from Canada participating in the Vermont Holy Ground Event.
“Though it’s not a Holy Ground, we will make it holy, make the water holy and it will flow to the rivers and ocean or wherever it goes and spread and bless the land,” prayed Jeanne Caron when the pilgrimage arrived at Niagara Falls.
At the Falls, Dr. Balcomb prayed: “Even when You’re tired, even when You are frustrated, even when You being to lose hope, Heavenly Parent, You give and give and give again. Father Moon was the first person who really understood Your broken heart, who really understood that You’re longing to have Your children reciprocate Your love. But, one day, we too, shall be like the Niagara Falls of True love; unending love coming from You through us to all the people of the world, especially in our families.”
As we welcomed new group from Detroit to the bus, Dr. Balcomb exclaimed, “Finally pointing west. For a month we’ve been pointing south and east and north, but now we are completing the last compass direction – west.”
