Washington, D.C. Unificationists Join Interfaith Unity Walk
Unificationists from the Washington, D.C. Family Church took part in an annual “Unity Walk” organized by the Interfaith Conference (IFC) of Metropolitan Washington on Sunday, October 14. This was the 13th Unity Walk held by the IFC, a group that was founded in 1978. This year the Washington, D.C. Family Church joined as an official sponsor.
The event started at the Washington Hebrew Congregation with a resource fair and presentations by local religious and community leaders. Participants then walked down Massachusetts Avenue NW, stopping along the way to visit various houses of worship, before arriving at the Islamic Center of Washington for a closing ceremony.
Several Unificationists from the Washington, D.C. and Maryland communities set up an information table at the resource fair, where they had the opportunity to tell visitors about True Parents and the Unification Movement, and especially the campaign to give the Marriage Blessing to 1 million U.S. couples. Although the resource fair portion of the event lasted only 45 minutes, in that time 12 couples rededicated their marriages with prayer and Holy juice.
