Dinner-Dance Youth Scholarship Fundraiser
New York Unificationists danced the night away on March 14 at a Dinner-Dance Youth Scholarship fundraiser. Inspired by Ambassadors for Peace, the community came together to raise funds to ensure that all of their youth had the opportunity to attend summer camp at Camp Sunrise this year.
There were 220 people in attendance, including many guests and members of the community. Friends and members of the local Filipino community were invited and their presence was a welcome addition to the festivities. Many young Unificationists also participated, and it was wonderful to see different generations dancing and enjoying the evening together.
The community feels that children’s ability to attend summer camp is very important. As Rev. Andrew Compton, District Pastor for the New York area, said in his opening remarks, “Camp Sunrise is important because it helps our youth to stand as God’s children in a difficult world environment by strengthening their life of faith.”
It was a wonderfully successful night with great food, dancing and good company. The community is proud to support its young people and provide them this important opportunity.
