Unificationists March in MLK ‘Marade’ in Little Rock
On the morning of January 20, Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP) and youth from the Little Rock Family Church partnered with the Wisdom House Project to ride in Little Rock’s 2020 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Marade (march and parade). The group drove a truck, holding signs calling for peace and photos of women and children supported by the Wisdom House.
The Wisdom House is a humanitarian group based in Arkansas that sponsors a women’s center and a kindergarten school in Syria, a country that has been suffering under a violent and oppressive regime. The Wisdom House raises awareness about the Syrian situation in the United States and sends supplies and encouragement to many Syrian families.
During the parade, many onlookers waved or shouted in agreement upon seeing the signs. Some even asked the WFWP and Little Rock Family Church group to stop, requesting more information about the activities of the two groups.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with people in the community with the same heart of service and desire for peace,” said a local Unificationist from the Little Rock Family Church. “All of the participants really enjoyed the event and we hope to do more activities like this in the future!”
