Unificationists Explore Deep Divine Principle Matters
How can we make Divine Principle relevant in everyday life? This is the question pastors from Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia asked themselves as they prepared to welcome lecturer Gerry Servito to present his insights at a weekend workshop titled Deep DP Matters.
On Saturday, June 3rd, over 40 young adults, some traveling from as far as Massachusetts, gathered at the church in Melford, Maryland to gain a deeper understanding of their faith and the Divine Principle. Gerry discussed topics such as God’s heart, personal development, and marriage and family relationships. Those in attendance said the lectures were “thought provoking” and that Servito’s words had “heart and passion.” Several young adults shared that what was most memorable for them was the realization of their own intrinsic, inherent value, which is clearly explained in the words of the Divine Principle.
The next day, on Sunday, around 200 members of the three congregations came together to hear Rev. Jim Boothby speak on tribal messiahship. After the sermon, the participants shared how grateful they were for Rev. Boothby’s words. In the afternoon, Gerry presented on three topics chosen by the pastors: Inheritance and Succession, Receiving the Messiah, and Using Divine Principle to Grow Spiritually and Restore the World. Overall, the weekend was a great success thanks to Daniel Drost, Jim Boothby, Ernest Patton, and Gerry Servito, among others.
