Unificationist Speaks about Freedom on Interfaith Panel

Unificationist Rev. Bill Dillinger participated in a “Faith and Freedom” forum organized by the Greater Kansas City Interfaith Council on January 31, 2016. Alongside 14 other panelists representing different religions, he answered questions about how freedom is taught and found through his faith tradition.
The panel was made up of participants representing the Roman Catholic Church, Bahai Faith, Hindu, Islam, Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Protestantism, Su Kyo Mahikari, Unificationism and others. Each took a few minutes to answer the questions from the perspective of their faith for the audience of about 70 people.
Rev. Dillinger said in his answer that, “Freedom requires action.” He spoke about the many imprisonments that Rev. Moon faced in his life. He noted the unjust imprisonment in the United States that led to religious leaders rallying together to speak out against religious persecution and bringing greater awareness toward the right of religious freedom.
The audience asked many questions during the lively discussion. A final question was posed to the panelists, “In three words or less, what advice would you give on how to create a world of peace for future generations?” to which Rev Dillinger answered, “Love your enemy.”
The audience and participants enjoyed fellowship and refreshments after the event.
