True Family Values Seminar
The American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC) held a True Family Values program at the Minneapolis Family Church on March 26, 2016. FFWPU USA President, Dr. Michael Balcomb, along with district IW, Rev. David Rendel, also attended the program.
Rev. Borer and Rev. VJ Smith, who received the True Family Values Award in Chicago last year, organized the program to remind the attendees the importance of building strong families based on the Divine Principle and True Parents’ teachings.
The program was emceed by the former Universal Peace Federation (UPF) President, Rev. James Gavin, and was celebrated with song by the choir.
Throughout the program, Rev. Borer deeply expressed the importance of a father and mother’s role in a family. The audience were especially touched by Rev. Smith’s story as he shared how his recent reunion with his physical mother melted his resentments toward her. He also shared how the program inspired him to start a new project to restore broken families, called MAD DADS (Men Against Destruction, Defending Against Drugs and Social-disorder). After having attended the ACLC National Convocation held in Las Vegas and received the True Family Values Award in Chicago last year, he had a deep inspiration to start this new project to support and heal 500 broken families.
The program concluded with fellowship, and attendees expressed that they felt inspired and encouraged by Rev. Smith’s dedication in his outreach project.
