‘Tis the Season of Giving
‘Tis the season of giving! And what better way to give than to charitable organizations—like High Noon and CARP (Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles)—which are making a difference in people’s lives and your community.
On Giving Tuesday, December 1, both nonprofits held national campaigns to raise funds for current and upcoming projects. But it doesn’t stop there—volunteers have been tremendously invaluable to these organizations and donors are encouraged to give their money, time, or skills.
“Despite most college campuses being shut down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, CARP chapters have continued to grow throughout 2020,” said Jinil Fleischman, CARP national president. “Students have been reaching out to friends and classmates and holding virtual meetings and retreats to introduce our educational tools, including the Principled Perspective.”
Established in 1966 by the late Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon and his wife Mother of Peace Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founders of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) and affectionately known as True Parents, CARP has been at the forefront of numerous initiatives on campuses across America. Created for students by students, the organization has a range of programs, events, and activities promoting family values and principles for raising the next generation of leaders.
“National CARP is striving to raise up young leaders who can support True Mother’s goals for America for 2027, and we’re fundraising to support various CARP activities in 2021,” said Fleischman.
Similarly, High Noon, a grassroots organization started by a group of Unificationists in 2017, is committed to championing Rev. and Dr. Moon’s vision for purity and true intimacy in relationships through education and living “life without shadows.” High Noon pledged to double its donations on Giving Tuesday, where more than $5,000 donation pledges were matched, in addition to more than $3,000 total donations.
“These funds go directly toward the activities of our three ministries, which support small groups, couples, and families; as well as our events, podcast, outreach, and community building,” said Carina Cunningham, a ministry coordinator at High Noon. “One of our main projects for 2021 is a new social media platform called High Noon Connect where everyone can share more sincerely with each other. Whether it’s through volunteering, donating, or something else, giving from the heart is really what matters most.”
For more than six decades, Rev. and Dr. Moon led by selfless example, living for the sake of others and putting all their effort toward unity and world peace. Dr. Moon continues her husband’s legacy of love through global peace movements, worldwide rallies, international conferences, and more—joining together millions of people from around the world.
Let’s usher in this holiday season with the same heart of love and giving.
