A Surprise Visit at the Las Vegas Spanish Learning Center

On Friday, June 3, the students at the Spanish Learning Center in Las Vegas were blessed with a surprise visit from Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Continental Chairman of North America for Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU).

The Spanish-speaking Unificationists welcomed him with a warm heart, notifying Dr. Kim of the positive response the education center has received from the Latino community since the center was opened several weeks ago. A couple weeks prior, the education center opened several English classes for Spanish speakers. The kindness of and commitment to teaching by the English teachers and Unificationist volunteers have impressed the students at the education center, with a total of 45 students now attending the four classes.

Dr. Kim was pleased to discover that that several of the students at the education center are now interested in studying the Divine Principle in detail. Dr. Kim then prayed for the success of the education center, subsequently providing a donation for its improvement. The Unificationists, the English students, and Dr. Kim then walked to a nearby Mexican restaurant and enjoyed a delicious lunch together as one family.

The Unificationists of the education center have taken every opportunity to support and help the local Latino community, inviting them to participate in the weekend activities of the Las Vegas Family Church, such as picnics, open mics, and seminars. This week, the Unificationists in Las Vegas plan on opening a GED class in Spanish.

    When I saw the picture of this article I felt that there was a good spirit surrounding Dr. Kim. It truly does feel like it was a blessed, surprised visit.

    Also, I am so happy that they received a donation from Dr. Kim and had lunch time as one family. The brothers and sisters there must have been praying with tears to make this happen!
