Support IRFF’s Japan Disaster Relief
On Thursday, July 5, 2018 record rainfalls began hitting western Japan killing a reported 200 people with many more injured. Ensuing landslides, torrential rains and flooding made relief and rescue efforts extremely dangerous and difficult. Rev. Man Jin Kim, Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) Japan Regional Director shared, “The days of heavy rain damaged many members’ homes and household possessions especially in Hiroshima and Okayama. One blessed couple in Hiroshima passed away from a landslide caused by the rain.”
Back in July, in the wake of the disasters, True Mother had sent aid to Unificationists in Okayama as well as to other damaged areas. Many Japanese, Korean and American Unificationists have made donations to support families and friends in Japan. Soon after the rain stopped, many Unificationists in other parts of Japan went to attend the recovery operation for affected families and their neighborhoods. The UPEACE volunteer relief force in Korea also sent many volunteers to Japan to assist.
The most recent disaster to hit was early this September with a massive earthquake hitting Hokkaido Island with more expected disasters to come. Japan needs our help!
The International Relief Friendship Foundation, Inc. (IRFF) has been running a disaster relief fund effort since July and continues to do so. Please make your donation today.
“Our family members in Japan have experienced great tragedy and suffering as a result of these typhoons and earthquakes,” shared Rev. Richard Buessing, President of Family Federation for a Heavenly USA. “Our heart goes out to everyone during this difficult time. Our prayers are with them daily. Please support our brothers and sisters in Japan.”
