Korean College Students to Present on UN and Reunification

On Sunday, January 8 at 1:00 p.m., 20 college students hailing from top schools in South Korea will offer presentations at the Clifton Family Church (78 Demott Ave, Clifton, NJ) about the role the United Nations can play in bringing about Korean reunification, as well as issues regarding North Korean refugees.

The Korean peninsula, which was split in 1945, subsists in a state of hostile relations between north and south. As the ever-present threat of nuclear war looms heavy, these presentations will provide an excellent opportunity for American and Korean college students to meet and discuss issues that affect both countries.

The South Korean student presenters were appointed to visit New York City and the United Nations through the Sun Hak Elite Scholarship Program. Many identify as Unificationists and come in the spirit of True Father, who escaped North Korea at the end of World War II and who, during his lifetime, spoke often about the importance of reestablishing unity between North and South Korea.
