Seattle Family Church Celebrates 777 Couples’ 45th Anniversary

On Saturday, October 24, 2015, the Seattle Family Church celebrated the 45th anniversary of the 777-Couple Holy Marriage Blessing at the historic Windermere Mansion where True Parents often stayed when in Seattle, Washington. The local couples who had participated in the 777-Couple Blessing were Rev. David and Mrs. Takeko Hose and Mrs. Moon Hye Seuk and Dr. Joon Ho Seuk.

The mansion hall was beautifully prepared for the event and was filled with Unificationists and friends. The Seattle Family Church pastor, Nelson Mira, opened the gathering with a prayer thanking Heavenly Parent and True Parents for establishing the 777 couples to build a foundation for God’s providence. Rev. Mira also thanked all the 777 couples for their sacrifices and investments to build God’s kingdom.
The event emcee gave an opening message acknowledging the names of other 777 couples in the US and explaining the significance of the 777 couples by reading True Father’s words spoken about 45 years ago. Theirs was the first truly international Marriage Blessing, presided over by True Parents on October 21, 1970. Participants of this Blessing came from 10 nations to Korea, laying the foundation for the Unification Church to work on the worldwide level.

A dinner banquet sparked lively conversations with the anniversary celebrants. Rev. and Mrs. Hose and Mrs. Seuk (Dr. Seuk was in Korea at the time) cut the celebration cake while everyone in the hall sang the traditional “Happy Anniversary” song.

Several couples and individuals related their personal experiences with the anniversary celebrants, highlighting how they were blessed working with them in the past and present. Rev. Hose responded to people’s testimonies by expressing his sincere appreciation. He also told his inspiring testimonies and experiences about how he and his wife joined the 777 couples. He expressed sincere gratitude to God and True Parents for giving them the opportunity to be a part of the 777 couples. Mrs. Hose also gave her testimony of the Blessing and her experiences during the early years of the Unification Movement.
Mrs. Moon Hye Seuk expressed appreciation with her whole heart. She said that just hearing several testimonies and experiences about the Marriage Blessing was so amazing and inspiring to her and she felt everyone’s hearts being rekindled with True Father in the spirit world. She also expressed her gratitude that these people could all come together in Seattle from different part of America and the world thanks to True Parents. She concluded with the thought that the last 45 years, although they went by so fast, made up such a wonderful life with wonderful experiences.

A group of four Unificationists formed a band, adding more excitement to the event and filling the evening with lively entertainment. A soloist serenaded the celebrants with her a cappella song. The event concluded with the presentation of gifts and cards with “You Are My Sunshine” playing in the background. Photo shoots followed and several people stayed to chat.

“The event was a clear testimony to the achievements of True Father and True Mother in their commitment to fulfill Heavenly Parent’s dream,” said Rev. Mira.

Congratulations to David & Tako Hose and ALL 777 couples who held down the fort during the lean and challenging times. Such great and real stories of faith, youth, and pioneering. And with so little ceremony. Much needed today.

Thank you Reverend Hose! I will never forget your precious guidance during my 40-day workshop in New York in July 1980. This workshop was a turning point in my spiritual life! May our Heavenly Parent and our True Parents bless all of you and your families!
