Peace King Cup Fishing Tournament is On!
The fish are biting this year, and the competition is heating up in the annual Peace King Cup Fishing Tournament!
The Peace King Cup Fishing Tournament, sponsored by Ocean Church, was established in 2000 and has become an annual spring tradition during the striped bass season on the Hudson River.
Five people began the tournament on May 8, and reeled in four striped bass between 33 inches and 37 inches. The following day, 17 people participated and brought in a 38.5 inch bass, the current length to beat. On Sunday May, 10, the teams continued the trend, with 23 participants bringing in 29.7 and 36.25 inch bass, and many blue fish. The team out on the water today already brought in a 36 inch bass.
It’s been one of the most successful years for the tournament, and it’s still anyone’s game. We look forward to awarding the winners!
