Manhattan Rallies for God’s Hope
God’s Hope for America banners flew over Manhattan this weekend as a group of Unificationists marched from 43rd street to 42nd for a “God’s Hope for America” rally. With signs, tambourines, and guitars in hand, Rev. Andrew Compton, pastor of the West Rock Family Church, Pastor John Arias, Manhattan Latino Ministry Pastor, and Christina Kartel, Assistant Administrator for the New York Family Church, helped lead the group of about 60 Unificationists through midtown.
At the site, people who participated from all over New York City heard a testimony from Unificationist Wilson Ferriero, and remarks from Rev. Estaban Galvan of the Bronx Family Church, and Rev. John Kung from the Queens Family Church. Mrs. Beryl Green, Chairwoman for the New York Metro Chapter for Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), read a passage from the book, “God’s Hope for America.” Participants then broke up to pass out papers in Bryant Park inviting people to attend lunch at the Learning Center at 43rd street.
Seven guests arrived at the Learning Center and were greeted at a table outside the building set up with books and various materials. After lunch, Rev. Compton spoke about True Father’s life work and mission, and invited the group to discuss what they loved about America.
It was an inspiring event, and many left feeling enthusiastic. “The day was perfect” said Rev. Tanya Edwards, Pastor of the New York Family Church at 43rd street, “I am so thankful for this opportunity to be involved with the rallies”
