Bay Area Family Church Celebrates Il Shim Graduates
Young people in the Bay Area Family Church recently gathered to celebrate their Il Shim Graduation Ceremony. Il Shim is designed as a course for young people, traditionally in their teens, to explore their faith and to commit to the ideals of abstinence before marriage and fidelity within.
This year, the Bay Area had about 70 participants and staff in the program, including guest students who joined friends with their parents’ permission.
Guest speakers included participants who had previously gone through and graduated from the program. These students shared how Il Shim impacted their life choices and what inspires them to continue to commit to a God-centered life.

All of the participants worked hard to complete the requirements of the program, which included study and daily practices. They were inspired and proud to finally complete the program and shared moving testimonies during the graduation ceremony.
The parents beamed with pride as they presented their children with the “True Love Waits” ring. The community was inspired to witness so many young people seriously committing themselves to God. It was a blessing to be a part of and witness such a beautiful event.
