Prayer Pilgrims Brave Heat to Pray at Phoenix Holy Ground

On the anniversary of a day of record heat (on June 26, 1990 the Phoenix record was 122 degrees) Unificationists are meeting outdoors in the Encanto Park, Phoenix for a 3:00pm prayer to revive God’s Hope for America, as part of a bus tour commemorating the 1965 journey of True Father founding Holy Grounds for prayer in 48 states.
Press are invited to attend the rally Thursday June 26, 2014 at 3:00pm in Encanto Park just north of the public parking lot off Encanto Avenue west of 7th Ave and East of 15th Ave in Phoenix.
The tour’s goal is to remember True Father’s visit to Phoenix in 1965 and his Day of Hope Crusade in Phoenix March 30, 1974. “This historical journey aims to bring God’s Hope to America of the now deceased international religious leader, revive the ideals he espoused and to let them materialize out of the fire of Phoenix, Arizona heat,” explains Arizona Unificationist Staffan Berg.

Dr. Michael Balcomb, president of the Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU USA), is scheduled as the keynote speaker, and will share his goal for visiting and offering prayers in all 48 states. He will also give his reflections on the lessons learned from following in the footsteps of True Father, who credits American forces for saving his life during his imprisonment in a North Korean concentration camp in 1950.
