Prayer Breakfast ‘Catches on Fire’ in Chicago
The American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), in collaboration with Rev. Dr. John Thomas Gray, president of Chicago Baptist Institute International, hosted a prayer breakfast at Holy Zion Missionary Baptist Church on the south side of Chicago on Tuesday, December 17.
The main message, titled “Catch on Fire,” was given by Bishop Shirley A. Coleman, pastor of Spiritual Wholistic Ministries of Love and Faith and former alderman of the 16th Ward in Englewood, one of Chicago’s poorest areas. She began by honoring the memory of Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, co-founder of the Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), and then invited everyone to the Peace Starts With Me Clergy Rally: A New Hope for A Heavenly Unified World on December 28 featuring Bishop Noel Jones, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, and, of course, the Mother of Peace, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of FFWPU.
“When you see fire, you see that something special is taking place,” said Bishop Coleman. “Are you here because you have some fire in your heart and want to do something for world peace? Rev. and Dr. Moon are on fire. You cannot accomplish what you need to if you aren’t on fire.”
Bishop Coleman continued, praising the work of Rev. and Dr. Moon and urging guests to join them in their mission for peace. Following the prayer breakfast, participants expressed how amazed they were by Bishop Coleman’s message and her conviction.
