Pilgrimage Sheds Light on True Parents’ Shining City Project
On July 8, 48 Japanese Unificationists from Shikoku, Japan visited Cheon Hwa Gung and the International Peace Education Center (IPEC) in Las Vegas in a pilgrimage to witness True Parents’ legacy and promise in Las Vegas.
In Cheon Hwa Gung, Rev. Ken Doo presented a history and background of the foundation that True Parents built there and the motivation behind True Father’s selection of Las Vegas as the place that he had to create, the establishment of peace centers in this disreputable city representing the restoration of a fallen world. This is known as the Shining City project, and after the enlightening talk, the inspired pilgrims were able to help contribute to this important mission by putting on a t-shirt fundraiser.
At the IPEC, Mr. Dieudonne Nkwethat gave a tour of the facility and invited the visitors to its grand opening in December. Although it was five months early for the opening, the Japanese travelers were visibly excited about the development and took many photos of and around the building. For the rest of the day, they went sightseeing at the nearby Aria and Lake Mead.
With their short visit, this group from Japan gleaned a deeper understanding of the value of True Parents’ investment and goals in Las Vegas. We hope that brothers and sisters around the world will take the opportunity to visit the IPEC, learn more about it, and continue to find creative ways to contribute to this project and become instruments for its fulfillment.
