In Memory of Rev. Dr. Zin Moon Kim
Today, our American Family joins our worldwide community in sending a great saint and dearly loved elder brother to the Heavenly realm. Rev. Zin Moon Kim will always be remembered with affection for his love and devotion to True Parents over a lifetime of service and devoted missionary work to more than 70 nations. Here in America we particularly note and appreciate his many years of service to our church, with stints as a Regional Director in California and Minnesota, before becoming National Advisor and Continental Director in 1991.
His Seonghwa (ascension) Ceremony will be held on March 5, 2016 at 7:00 am, at the Asan Hospital Funeral Home in Seoul. His body will be interred at the Paju Wonjeon at a service to be held at 11:00 am on the same day.
We particularly remember Dr. Kim as an entertaining, outspoken and down-to-earth teacher, preacher and counselor. In his book, The Fountain of Life, published in English, he shared his concern and desire to help English-speaking members understand the profound meaning of True Parents’ words from the original Korean. “The Word is eternal, so please don’t evaluate it by your imperfect measurement,” he would say. “If you don’t understand it, please just follow it.”
We join together in offering thanks and appreciation to our Heavenly Parent on this important and holy occasion. Thanks to our True Parents’ teaching, we know that today is a happy and victorious day, not the end but a new beginning. True Father often reminded us that, just as the baby in the womb cannot comprehend the enormity of this world, we here on earth struggle to understand that life in the spirit world is indeed vast and glorious beyond our imagination.
Rev. Zin Moon Kim, our dear elder brother, as you step forward now into this glorious and final phase of your journey to oneness with our Heavenly Parent, please know that your family and our entire movement are praying for you and offering you our love, respect and admiration. As you have so long been in the forefront of our American and worldwide Family, please offer greetings to True Father on all our behalf today!

We crossed paths in Kodiak in 1998 where he bent over and kneeled on the ground to help me get a fishing boot on my foot. He was a true example of an elder brother. He was not worried about position and naturally took to aiding me much to the dismay of my nearby 777 couple continental director who couldn’t possibly imagine doing that sort of thing. The look on that person’s face was one of shock. Indeed Rev. Z M Kim’s example was judgment of the heart. I’ll always remember you for that one time our paths crossed. God bless you kind and dear elder brother. I am now looking for those who need help with their boots, so to speak.

When Dr. Kim first came to the States after living in Africa for several years, he was the Regional Leader for the Atlanta Region for 21-days. During that time he and I spent ten days on the road together visiting all the church centers in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee. I have many exquisite memories of our time together.
We got stranded in a snow storm on the way from Nashville to Knoxville, and he couldn’t believe that in a developed country, the weather would prevent travel.
Dr. Kim always took advantage of any time together to share about True Parents and the Divine Principle. I’ll never forget being in Uruguay for a God’s Day program around 1997. During a fishing tournament, several brothers were having lunch sitting under a bridge trying to stay out of the sun and the wind. Dr. Kim joined us, and while we were happy to rest and enjoy the break, he engaged us by sharing about meetings he had with True Father just that morning.
I was sorry he was so ill at the end of his life. Now he is able to help True Father from Spiritual World. May Heaven Bless this man of God and his family.

Rev. Zin Moon Kim, when you were the leader in California, you really touched me with your honest and parental heart. You represented Father well. Not perfectly, but still very well. I’ll miss you.

Thank you, Rev. Kim, for compiling the book “The victory of love” with all the precious speeches of Heung Jin Nim. Heung Jin Nim is certainly extremely grateful for that.
God bless you, and I wish you big success in your work in the spiritual world!

Our eternal gratitude and affection to a true elder brother and teacher. He helped our HQ staff penetrate and love Father’s words everyday. He was the champion of “living for the sake of others” as our core principle. He pulled not just our HQ, but our families together, helping husband and wife, parents and children. He was very humble before True Parents, and a person for whom Jim Collins’s phrase, “brutally honest,” was created! But also, “lovingly perceptive,” I’d say. He had a very deep innocence, which brings a painful awareness of fallen nature. A special human being.

In 1993 Rev. Kim was a leader of North America, he came to see New Yorker Staff and families at 39th floor sky lounge. We asked to name our new born daughter and he named ” Soo Hwa” within 10 minutes to use my son’s a part of name( 1st Chinese character).
Thank you, Rev. Kim who always concerned members and families.
