Mayor Honors University of Bridgeport President

UB President Neil A. Salonen and his wife Rebecca at Caribe Youth League's annual gala on February 24. Mayor Ganim proclaimed "Neil A. Salonen Day" in Bridgeport; CYL honored UB's First Couple with matching jackets.

University of Bridgeport President Neil A. Salonen and his wife Rebecca were recognized by city leaders and the Bridgeport Caribe Youth League (BCYL) for providing opportunities that uplift the community. Standing before approximately 250 guests and dignitaries at the annual BCYL gala, the mayor proclaimed February 24 to be “Neil A. Salonen Day” in the City of Bridgeport. This recognition comes less than a month after the Bridgeport International Academy, a college preparatory school founded by True Parents, received an official citation from the city of Bridgeport.

    Congratulations to you and Rebecca for all the wonderful things you have done for the UB and Bridgeport communities. Our son graduated from UB last year, and had the great opportunity to sit and talk with you at a dinner. Afterward, he realized how fortunate he was to attend such a progressive and outstanding educational institution. Also, you were MY president long before you became president of UB. I thank you for your leadership in both institutions.
