Latest Education Resources
The National Ministry Team launched a new education feature on the familyfed.org website today—a hub of educational resources for individuals and families. You can access the Education page in the Familyfed homepage “Teachings” menu, or at familyfed.org/education.
Some of the new resources this month include:
The Gospel of True Parents
Presenter: Dr. Tyler Hendricks
We highlight and recommend this valuable and thoroughly-researched educational resource developed by Dr. Tyler Hendricks. Available on YouTube, The Gospel of True Parents, a series of nine videos, aims to share insights on the future of the Unification movement based on True Parents’ words.
“When Jesus left the earth, the Holy Spirit emerged; it was a new chapter,” explained Dr. Hendricks. “I hope this series of nine videos will ease us into this new chapter.”
As he worked on the translation of Cham Bumo Gyeong, the third of the Holy Scriptures, Dr. Hendricks took note of countless passages that caught his attention. Among them he noted in particular True Father’s statements about True Mother, because of their historic relationship as a couple and True Mother’s exceptional path as a woman leader. He compiled all this material chronologically, as well as content on the issue of True Parents’ succession, and that’s what this video series is all about.
“It took the chosen people centuries to assemble the Old Testament and New Testament,” said Dr. Hendricks. “I believe that it will likewise take a period of time for the world to even begin to grasp True Father’s teachings. His number one student and then collaborator, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, is doing the work of the Holy Spirit by illuminating the Word for us. The fullness of the Word will manifest more and more, as we mature in our ability to receive and practice it. We have barely scratched the surface.”
The Gospel of True Parents Youtube channel is already widely used internationally, including throughout Europe, Canada, Russia, Italy and Panama, with over 14,000 channel views and viewers of several countries asking for translated versions. You can easily share this resource with family and friends by clicking “Share” underneath each video and sending the link over social media or email.
The DP Dojo
Presenter: Various lecturers including Rev. Kevin Thompson, Gerry Servito and Rev. Andrew Compton
The Divine Principle Dojo is a new feature of dplife.info, a website and blog dedicated to introduce and inspire the Divine Principle in readers’ daily lives. Whether you’re new to the Divine Principle or a seasoned master, this is the place to gain powerful insights that will strengthen every aspect of your life.
Studying the Divine Principle in a physical room with other people has its benefits, but being able to attend a seven-day Divine Principle workshop on the train on the way to work has its benefits also. Having the content in one place online makes it easier to share with others as well.
“Dojo basically means the room where you study the way,” explains Demian Dunkley, Director of Evangelism at FFWPU USA. “Technically, it is a library of videos for online self-study or group seminars, and the DP Dojo conjures up a sense of embarking on a journey with the Divine Principle and how to apply it in your life.”
On the Dojo landing page, you can navigate the menu on the left side of your screen to watch videos in each section of the Divine Principle. Below each video, you’ll also find discussion questions, further details, audio recordings to listen on the go, downloadable PowerPoint presentations to accompany the lecture, and related readings on the DPLife blog.
The Dojo also houses the complete Divine Principle book online. It’s a work in progress, so check back for more in the near future!
Marriage Enrichment Webinars
Offered by the Blessing & Family Ministry
The Blessing & Family Ministry (BFM) hosts several online webinars—including Marriage Enrichment and Family Support. With the Foundation Day Marriage Blessing quickly approaching, we also want to highlight the BFM’s Blessing Education, which includes three levels of education for before, during and after the Blessing process.
The Marriage Enrichment Webinar series was initiated at the end of 2013 when Crescentia DeGoede became the Director for the Blessing & Family Ministry. They occur once per month on the fourth Thursday of every month.
Each presentation includes a 40-minute presentation from a professional marriage and family educator or counselor in the Unificationist community, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session. Each month features a different presenter and topic.
Each webinar provides practical tools to help married couples strengthen and deepen their relationship. Presentation topics include: communication skills, conflict resolution, enhancing intimacy, building connection, and spiritual growth as a married couple.
Any couple, regardless of the number of years married, can benefit from marriage enrichment. There are currently 200 people registered for the webinar series, so join in!
Visit the Education page for more resources and check back regularly for webinars, limited-time courses and other new features.
