L.I.G.H.T Presents “Gratitude”
The Family Church of New York City (FC NYC) will host L.I.G.H.T, a new youth-run program targeted mainly to bring young people through the door but open to everyone. L.I.G.H.T. stands for Lead, Inspire, Give Hope and Transform. Like TED Talks, this series will be discussing everything under the sun with three short talks every fifth Sunday, the first of which is happening on November 30, 2014.
“This program is designed to be a thought-provoking series aimed at inspiring and empowering a new generation,” explains Hyun Moraes, one of the developers of this event. “This differs from a traditional service in that we want to present contrasting perspectives on an underlying mutual theme, while engaging the audience in music and fellowship and giving them a chance to discuss and present their points of view in a transparent and open environment. We are also hoping to grow this initiative in a quasi-grassroots fashion, where we can bring together ordinary people with extraordinary talents and create a culture that promotes respect, peace, love, forgiveness and unity, following in the footsteps of True Mother’s initiative. We hope it could also expand to other types of events and projects as well.”
All are invited to L.I.G.H.T! On the Sunday after Thanksgiving at 10:00 AM, join us at 4 West 43rd Street in New York City to hear great music and listen to three compelling speakers—Justin Okamoto, Naokimi Ushiroda and Victoria Roomet—talk on the theme of Gratitude. Tell your family and friends, and if you’d like to get involved, please fill out the form below. For updates on the event, visit the Facebook page.
