K-CARP Meets President of Pasadena Community College

The SMU students and Pasadena Community College President, Dr. Vurdien
Thirty-six Sun Moon University (SMU) CARP students came to the United States from Korea in January for a West Coast pilgrimage. The latter part of their stay was dedicated to outreach activities in Los Angeles, in which they would visit college campuses and find students eager to hear more about the Divine Principle. Their most recent visit to the Pasadena Community College allowed them the unique chance to meet the college president, Dr. Vurdien, who spent time with the students and spoke with them.
Before the SMU students came to Los Angeles, LA CARP met with Dr. Vurdien and asked him to meet with CARP Korea (K-CARP) students and give welcome speech for them. He had already heard about CARP and True Parents, and gladly agreed to a meeting.
On February 3rd, Dr. Vurdien followed through with his promise and met the K-CARP students, who welcomed him enthusiastically. Dr. Vurdien had a pleasant exchange with the students and said, “I promise I will go to Korea, so please invite me.”

After their meeting, the CARP students took the opportunity to stop by the campus cafeteria where they study the Divine Principle with students daily. Their meeting with Dr. Vurdien gave them a renewed sense of confidence in their mission work.
“It was one of big event for us,” said Naoko Hiraki, a Japanese missionary in Los Angeles who has been supporting the CARP students in their outreach efforts. “We could connect with the President of Pasadena Community College, and now this place feels like a Holy Ground.”
