Hot Off The Presses: Share The Washington Times Rally Story
The worldwide virtual Rally of Hope hosted by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) on August 8 made front-page headlines in The Washington Times following the global peace event. The rally brought together many prominent voices, including former and current heads of state from around the world joining the Mother of Peace Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, while discussing global unity and peace amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, North America chairman of Family Federation of World Peace and Unification (FFWPU), urged people to share the article as he shared his reflections on the story during a recent meeting among FFWPU-USA leaders.
“We have never had this kind of recognition with a rally, which was shared by The Washington Times; it was never a big story before,” said Dr. Kim. “This is great news and I am so grateful. We are so blessed to be serving Mother Moon and God, our Heavenly Parent.”
The article highlighted distinguished speakers representing the religious and political spheres who weighed in on the global health and economic crises, racial divisions, reunification of the Korean Peninsula, and environmental turmoil, among other issues. Rally speakers, including Dr. Moon, the founder of UPF and co-founder of FFWPU, called for international cooperation and collaboration to address these problems and stem global conflict to bring about long-lasting peace.
Dr. Kim implored leaders and pastors to share the article through email as an outreach tool. “I shared about The Washington Times article with Mother Moon,” said Dr. Kim. “It’s amazing to get this exposure for our message of peace to the world. Let us share this great news with all of our contacts and all of the people we know in each region of the U.S.”
Dr. Kim said connecting with people as much as possible is affirming Dr. Moon, who has spoken of interdependence, mutual prosperity, and universal values as the pillars of UPF and a bedrock for world peace. “Mother Moon wants to build up this foundation for the sake of sharing about God and this message of peace to everyone. We must share about the rally and the news article with others; that is a blessing. It is God’s Will and happiness to share blessings with others. Mother Moon continuously talks about blessing and living for the sake of others. This has really inspired and impacted me in my mission, and I hope others feel the same.”
The Rally of Hope drew an estimated 100 million participants from 194 nations. A series of online rallies of hope will continue each month through December.
