In this week’s video, Dr. Tyler Hendricks presents “The Kingdom of Families.” As does the American Declaration of Independence, our Constitution contains a pledge. Those fifty-six signers’ pledge inaugurated an individual-centered nation. Our Family Pledge inaugurates a family-centered world. It is a pledge to perfect family relationships, each of which, as True Father explained, “has its laws. The parent-child relationship has its laws; the relationship between husband and wife has its laws, and the relationship among brothers and sisters has its laws.” So he called the Family Pledge “something like a constitutional law.” There we have the roots of the Cheon Il Guk Constitution.  

Our Holy Marriage Blessing podcast is entitled, “Irresistible Marriage.” True Father taught that “God’s philosophy is one of non-resistance,” even against Satan. In fact, “God is in the position of being tied up by Satan.” Therefore, “love your enemy is the culmination of Jesus’ teaching.” And “If a man who thinks he’s really handsome is matched with a woman he considers to be less than himself, his loving her is even more important than his loving his enemies.” Marriage is the model for the unification of very different entities. Unification means mutual ownership: what I own, is yours. It means mutual participation, in public life and in domestic life. And it means mutual inheritance: we share our inheritances, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer.
