Elizabeth Family Church Opens Bigger Location
Report submitted by Pastor Emiljun Rapada
On January 6, the Elizabeth Family Church opened their bigger location located at 60 Prince St., Elizabeth, NJ, on the first Sunday of January and the day of the Epiphany.
Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America was the guest of honor at the inauguration ceremony who gave an uplifting message. He asked the question, “Who are the owners of the City of Elizabeth and this nation of America? It is not the political leaders nor the religious leaders, but the Blessed Families.”
After the dedication prayer and ribbon cutting ceremony, everyone was welcomed into the new building by Pastor Darryl Franklin. To make the celebration even more jovial, a few second generation Unificationists offered two beautiful songs that really touched the hearts and souls of the guests. Dr. Kim said, “I can see and I can feel the younger generations are looking for hope. Let us give them that hope because they are the future of this city and this nation.” He later committed a generous donation to the community.
A late lunch fellowship ensued after the ceremony. While breaking bread together, a small meeting was also convened where several questions were asked by the core staff and senior members of the community. Everyone felt very hopeful and determined that the new year will bear more substantial results for Heavenly Parent’s and True Parents’ providence.
In 2019, the Elizabeth Family Church will commence the Latino Ministry and will also provide other social services including marriage and youth counselling, wedding services and even ESL (English as a Second Language) classes in order to contribute to the internal transformation of the community.
