More than 200 Unificationists gathered at the Chicago Family Church on January 5 to welcome Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, regional chairman of Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) North America, and his wife Mrs. Tamme Song Kim to their first Sunday service of the new year.
During his sermon, Dr. Kim spoke about the incredible determination of Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, co-founder of FFWPU. He shared behind-the-scenes stories from her recent world speaking tour, emphasizing Dr. Moon’s unmistakable dedication in realizing world peace. Dr. Kim concluded his message by encouraging Unificationists to testify to Dr. Moon and her late husband Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, co-founder of FFWPU, in order to revive religion and spirituality in America.
Dr. Kim then invited FFWPU Midwest Subregional Director Rev. David Rendel to share about the Peace Starts With Me Clergy Rally on December 28. A few Generation Peace Academy (GPA) graduates and Young Tribe Week participants also shared their experiences, inspiriting Dr. Kim and the audience with their dynamism and enthusiasm.
The service also featured a special birthday celebration for those born in January, including Dr. Kim himself, followed by a gift presentation thanking Dr. Kim and Rev. Rendel for their tireless efforts leading up to the Clergy Rally.
