Dallas Outreach Team Plows Through
Through an unusual week of wintry weather, the Dallas, Texas, outreach team rallied last weekend with a team BBQ and a workshop on Saturday, February 28, 2015.
“This was my final day of outreach in Dallas and probably the best for me,” said Karlsun Allen of New Jersey on Saturday, after coming to Texas a week earlier to take part in the outreach initiative. “I met two great people today, and I have high hopes for them. I met a 20-year-old young lady at a train station near El Centro College in downtown Dallas and had a good conversation as she waited for her train. She is open-minded and interested in finding a new church.”
Though the weather and the icy roads may have discouraged guests from attending the BBQ, the team enjoyed the food prepared by Dallas Family Church Pastor Rev. John Jackson as well as the fellowship. Despite the snow over the past few days, they had managed to connect to many interested guests who had accepted invitations to local events including Sunday Service, Wednesday Bible study and a weekend workshop that welcomed two newcomers as well as young people from the Dallas Family Church community.
Many guests are attending Sunday Service on a regular basis and enjoying the experience of learning the Divine Principle. The outreach campaign is making a difference in Dallas, and though the team members—who include locals and visitors from around the country—are about to start their second and final week of the outreach initiative, they have plans to continue this tradition throughout the year in their local communities.
