Community Gathers for an Active Weekend

Family Federation for World Peace and Unification (FFWPU) USA President Dr. Michael Balcomb and his wife, Mrs. Fumiko Balcomb, visited the Triangle Family Church in Durham, North Carolina for the weekend of December 10-11, 2016. During their trip, Dr. and Mrs. Balcomb met with key members of the community on Saturday evening and the rest of the congregation after church on Sunday. Members from the neighboring Charlotte and Ocean Community Family Churches also attended the Sunday Service and post-service discussion on Sunday.

Dr. Balcomb gave the sermon on Sunday, speaking on various matters of faith. He utilized several creative exercises to help us understand and follow Jesus’ example from 2000 years ago, as someone who tried to build the new reality of Heaven on Earth during his lifetime. For instance, at one point, Dr. Balcomb invited the congregation to act out the famous scene which took place on the Sea of Galilee, calling younger congregants forward onto the stage to act out the role of the skeptical, worried disciples who began to fear for their lives and doubt Jesus when a horrendous storm came upon the sea. All in all, it was an inspiring message and weekend for everyone!
