Community Begins Monthly Prayers for America
On the foundation of True Mother’s historic and victorious speech at the United States Senate in December 2016, the Washington, D.C. Family Church has decided to hold a prayer breakfast meeting to pray for America every month.
The first prayer breakfast of 2017 took place on January 21, 2017, and the February meeting was held on the 18th.
After songs of praise led by Nanae Goto and Yuriko Kitagawa, and welcoming remarks by co-pastor of the Washington, D.C. Family Church Dr. Achille Acolatse, Rev. Joseph Burns and Bishop Dr. Patra Kidwell delivered inspiring messages and offered prayers for America and its government to be guided by God.
Their messages were followed by a candlelight service led by the Washington, D.C. co-pastor Rev. Jean-Pierre Sonna and a reading of True Parents’ words from Chambumo Gyeong by Dr. Acolatse. A prayer was offered for all 50 states followed by a round of the Unification hymn “Song of Unity.” Everyone was then invited to attend next month’s prayer breakfast meeting.
