Chicago Family Church Welcomes Dr. Kim

At the Chicago Family Church, 200 Unificationists welcomed Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Regional Chairman of Family Federation North America, to deliver a sermon at their new church building on Sunday, September 9. The building is currently temporarily set-up during renovations and is one out of a goal of twelve new church centers in America.

During his sermon, Dr. Kim gave a brief report about the happenings in Korea, from the Seonghwa and Cosmic Blessing Celebrations to the 3-day Cheongpyeong workshop True Mother surprised everyone with to empty themselves and unite mind and body and their connection with True Mother. Dr. Kim emphasized that the purpose of the Marriage Blessing Ceremony is for the sake of God. “Without Blessed Central Families centering on Heavenly Parent and True Parents, we cannot rebuild this country…This is God’s desire and his purpose of creation,” he said.

In response to Dr. Kim’s moving words, Midwest Subregional Director Rev. David Rendel said, “I felt Dr. Kim’s message was profound. He really gave encouragement to the Unificationists about the preciousness of our life of faith and how grateful God and True Parents are for our participation in God’s providence.”

Dr. Kim ended his sermon by expressing his gratitude to the newly blessed couples as well as the Chicago community for their contributions to the beautiful new building and for being wonderful Blessed Central Families.
