CheongShim Graduate School Seeks Theology Professor

The CheongShim Graduate School of Theology (CSGST) is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Visiting Professor of Theology and Ministry. The successful applicant will begin teaching on October 1, 2016.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have either a doctoral or a master’s degree; will be Unificationist, preferably with experience working within the church or with one of the church’s affiliate organizations; and will meet the typical standards for candidacy required of private school educators. The applicant selected for the position will be hired under an annual income contract starting on October 1. Preference will be given to those applicants who can give lectures in English.

• One copy of the general application form
• One copy of a cover letter of self-introduction
• One copy of a summary list of research completed
• One copy of a resume
• Certificates of graduation and/or transcripts for each bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree completed (if you have received degrees from colleges outside of Korea, you must submit a notarized diploma for each degree)
• Certificates of career or work
• International applicants must submit one copy of their passport or alien registration card
• One copy each of your master’s and doctoral dissertations
• A record of research achievements related to theology and ministry or to your field/major completed in the last four years (August 2012-present)
• Statement of future plans after being a professor
• One letter of recommendation from a church minister
• One copy of a personal service agreement

Please note:

Documents in foreign languages must be submitted with Korean translations attached (excluding dissertations, for which a summary in Korean may be provided). CSGST will not return documents submitted in the course of the application.

Application Process

Applicants will undergo a basic examination first, in which the prospective professor’s majors and fields of research will be reviewed. The second stage of examinations will include a review of the prospective professor’s academic excellence and teaching ability. Applicants who advance past the second stage will be invited to an interview upon receiving a personnel notice from CSGST. If a successful applicant is found, that individual will be contacted by September 7, 2016. If no successful applicant is found, CSGST will not fill the posting.
